About Me
Psychotherapy is a second career for me. After many years of working in education which culminated in my being the director of a master’s level program at East Tennessee State University, surprisingly, I found myself unfulfilled even though I had reached my highest career goal. During this time my interest in psychology took on a deeper focus and I found myself fascinated by the study of the psyche by the great Swiss psychotherapist Dr. Carl G. Jung.
My passion for this work compelled me to embark on this journey to enable me to work as a psychotherapist and to deepen my service to others. In addition to the educational degrees I earned, I also hold a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling in Marriage and Family Therapy and I am currently a Candidate at the Jung Institute of Pittsburgh, Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts.
I use different therapeutic modalities and techniques in a warm, non-judgmental approach grounded in the depth psychology of Dr. Carl G. Jung, and am currently taking new clients at my private practice in Gray, Tennessee.
Policies & Fees
Are you concerned about the affordability of therapy?
I understand this concern and I’d like to reassure you that many of my previous clients have felt the same way. I would also like to reassure you that those who have gone on and made the decision to invest in themselves with doing this work have found that their lives have improved immensely.
I do not accept third party payment / health insurance. This enables me to have a sliding scale for fees according to your circumstances and ability to pay.
Ethics & Confidence
All sessions are held in the utmost confidence. There are few exceptions to this which are based in the "Duty to Warn" requirement that all psychotherapists must abide by. The following exceptions require disclosure by law: child abuse / neglect, imminent danger to self or others, or court order by a judge.
Cancellation
When booking an appointment, you are reserving my time to be exclusively with you. If you are unable to make a scheduled appointment, I ask for 24 hours notice of cancellation. Unless the cancellation is due to serious illness or other serious extenuating circumstances, the full session fee is applied.
Scope of Practice
I do not offer emergency care, crisis intervention, court-mandated therapy, or case management services. I am available to established clients via email, text or telephone.
